A more Eco-Friendly “I Do”

Lyndsey Purchon made the bookshelf in her apartment from items she found in the street. She grows her own herbs in her rooftop garden, and shops at locally-sourced grocery stores and farmers markets.

So when Purchon, 30, of Williamsburg, got engaged last Valentine’s Day, there was no question that her October wedding would reflect her eco-friendly lifestyle. Rejecting the disposable decorations and expensive, synthetic dresses that her friends forced her way, Purchon has designed a wedding that’s easy on her budget, and easy on the earth.
